Contactless is the new buzz word in 2015.  Designed to make paying for small, everyday purchases quicker and easier, we can now tap to pay for bus or tube travel, as well as purchases under £30 in retailers who accept contactless payment in-store.  Our Coffee Shop owners say that the average spend on card today is around £10 and that card payments make up roughly 70% of all their transactions.  They have also seen a significant increase in card usage since contactless payment was made possible.  With Apple Pay now having entered the market, the public knowledge around contactless and NFC technology has skyrocketed.  We’re well on our way to becoming a cashless society and banks are leading the way!

TSB are back with their second Coffee Cup campaign this year.  This time there’s a twist as the message is tailored around their Plus account and the fact that TSB customers get 5% cashback on the first £100 of contactless payments every month.  Distributing Coffee Cups in outlets that accept contactless payment is a clever and effective way for TSB to reach consumers when they are likely to be using contactless to pay for an everyday purchase like their coffee to go and suggesting that simply banking with TSB is full of unexpected plusness.

The Coffee Cups are all being distributed in Cafés that accept contactless payment with the activity focused in London and Scotland for 8 weeks from 14th September.

The campaign was planned and booked by MGOMD and Talon Outdoor.
