There’s no denying a chill in the air of late reminding us that winter is fast approaching.  Grabbing that coffee in the morning to warm up will be triggering thoughts of Christmas markets, ski holidays and the general wintry fun that the promise of snow brings.  Tis the season to be jolly after all!

Austria National Tourist Office decided to take full advantage of the change in season last week by hosting a ‘Winter Wonderland’ event at Spitalfields Market.  To support the activity, they used 5000 branded coffee cups in 15 coffee shops in the Spitalfields area to raise awareness about the event and offer everyone who couldn’t make it down to the Market a chance to win a holiday to Austria.  They integrated a QR code and links to various social media content.

Coffee cups are a premium format ideal for brands looking to benefit from the feel-good coffee association.  We’ve seen a number of travel and tourism brands invest in coffee culture campaigns this year as there is such a strong affinity between café culture and holidays.
